1. Classes will take place once per week for 35 - 45 minutes depending on your child’s age/grade/level. There will be 32 – 40 lessons per year.
2. Please let the teacher know should your child be absent from school or not attending the class. The teachers do not have time to look for children, as it cuts into teaching time.
3. A cancellation form must be completed & submitted and the child’s instructor must be informed prior to the acceptance of the cancellation of your child from Abacus Maths. Please send an email to kuruman@abacusmaths.co.za should you decide to remove your child from the classes. One month’s notice of cancellation is required from January to September. Cancellations in the months of October to December will carry legal penalties as set out in point 9 below.
4. Abacus Maths prefer EFT payments. Cash deposits are discouraged and are subject to an additional 6% when making payment (cover bank charges). Payment Reference: Child’s Name, Surname and School.
5. Should your child start on and complete a Numeracy/Abacus course before the year is over, he/she will advance to the next course. On doing so, new books and/or equipment will be required. The costs of this are not included in the Kit Fee & will be charged extra at such time.
6. Additional books will be invoiced during the year, as required by the child. No book will be issued unless payment has been received.
7. Should your child continually forget their books for class, a fee per page will be levied on your account for additional copies made for your child.
8. You will be held liable for legal expenses incurred if account is not settled according to your payment option.
9. Should the client cancel the contract during the last quarter of any given year, a cancellation fee, as contemplated in Section 14 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2009, will be levied. Such cancellation fee will be equal to quarterly fee as noted above.
